Bake cake. Bake and cool cake in Elmo pan following recipe instructions.
Step 2
Prepare and tint icing. Prepare icing following recipe instructions. Using icing colors, tint ½ cup icing black, ¼ cup orange and 1½ cup red following color combination provided. Reserve remaining ¾ cup icing white.
*Combine Red-Red and Christmas Red icing colors to get red color shown.
Step 3
Decorate cake. Using spatula and white icing, ice eyes smooth. Using spatula and black icing, ice inside of mouth smooth. Using spatula and orange icing, ice nose smooth. Using spatula and red icing, ice Elmo face, leaving swirls in icing.
Prepare decorating bag with tip 3 and black icing. Pipe smile on Elmo.
